Admission Criteria at Aquinas American School

At Aquinas American School, we value the diversity and potential of each student. During the admission process, we assess various aspects such as academic history, individual evaluation, recommendation letters, interest in the school’s philosophy, and commitment to our mission. To begin the admission process, it is necessary to complete the application through our online platform. Additionally, the following documentation is required:

1. Application Form

The online application form must be completed on our platform.

2. Academic Records

Grades from the last two academic years and the current year must be submitted.

    3. Recommendation Letters

    Parents must enter the details of a teacher or tutor in our platform, who will receive a form to complete.

    4. English Proficiency

    Non-native English-speaking students applying for grades 7-12 must take the Duolingo English Test (DET). The minimum English levels required for each grade are as follows:

    • G7 & G8: 120 points
    • G9 & G10: 130 points
    • G11 & G12: 135 points

    The test can be taken at home and is a quick and accessible alternative.

    Aquinas American School reserves the right to admit, conditionally admit, place on a waiting list, or deny admission to any applicant. Admission is not considered final until the family receives an official letter with the decision from the Admissions Committee.

    All enrollments are conditional until the grades from the previous year are received before enrollment. All students who have completed grades 7-11 abroad will need to provide the original apostilled or certified documents from their home country.

    In exceptional cases, we will admit G12 students unless they have been abroad for at least 5 years or were without schooling due to their relocation.

    Confirmation of enrollment*

    Candidates will be notified of the final decision via a formal admissions letter. Once admitted, the families will be sent a service provision agreement that must be filled out by the date indicated, along with the required bank deposit to finalize the enrollment.

    *Notification of admission

    For courses K1-K3 the notification period will be 15 days.
    A first list of admissions for G1 to G12 courses will be published on March 1.
    A second list for the same courses will be published on April 1.
    Once you have been notified of admission, you will have a period of time to confirm in writing your acceptance of the place. This notification will include the cost of tuition and instructions on how to pay and confirm your place.
