Sports

At AAS, sports and physical education are essential pillars in fostering students’ physical and mental well-being. Through regular exercise, students develop vital motor skills, coordination, and teamwork. Participating in team sports also builds valuable social connections, enhances self-confidence, and encourages resilience. Learning to handle both victory and defeat gracefully, students grow into compassionate, determined individuals. Our campus features a 7v7 soccer field, basketball courts, and a gym to support these activities.

PreSchool Program

In PreSchool, physical activity focuses on developing psychomotor skills. K1 and K2 students engage in psychomotricity two hours per week, while K3 students enjoy three hours each week, with a portion of that time dedicated to soccer.

Lower School Program

Lower School students have three hours of Physical Education per week over two days. One day, students can do either soccer or a multisport program that rotates monthly. This introduces them to volleyball, badminton, handball, hockey, track and field, ultimate frisbee, tag rugby, aerobics, health & fitness, and baseball/kickball. Students opting for soccer become part of the Bears team, competing in the Pozuelo Municipal League on Saturdays. On the other day, students may participate in one of these sports electives: soccer, basketball, tennis, or judo, all held in the school’s sports facilities.

Middle School Program

Middle School students have four hours of Physical Education (PE) weekly, divided across two days. For PE, they have the option between soccer—where they can join the Bears team and play in the Pozuelo Municipal League—or a multisport program. In addition, we offer sports electives such as tennis, paddle, soccer, basketball, and volleyball. These are held at the nearby Angel Nieto Sports Center.

High School Program

In High School, physical education is optional, allowing students to join school teams in soccer, volleyball, or basketball. These teams practice twice a week at the Polideportivo Angel Nieto and compete on Saturdays. While soccer and volleyball teams compete in the Pozuelo Municipal League, basketball teams participate in the Madrid Federated League through our partnership with Baloncesto Torrelodones (BT). High School students can also take tennis and paddle lessons bi-weekly.

Extracurricular Activities

For Lower and Middle School students, AAS offers various extracurricular options, including soccer, ballet, roller skating, and volleyball. Girls from Grades 5 through 8 who choose volleyball as an extracurricular activity also join the Bears team to compete in the Pozuelo Municipal League on Saturdays.
