Stages of the American Preschool Education System
The American Preschool Education system is organized into three progressive stages, each with specific goals and methodologies:
Kindergarten 1 (Ages 3–4)
The first contact with the school environment. Focus on emotional adaptation, routine development, socialization, and the introduction of bilingual communication. Through guided play, songs, stories, and hands-on activities, children begin building the foundations for school learning.
Kindergarten 2 (Ages 4–5)
Work habits are consolidated, and more structured content is introduced. Students develop phonological awareness, letter and number recognition, motor coordination, and cooperation. Intellectual curiosity is stimulated through sensory, experimental, and narrative experiences.
Kindergarten 3 (Ages 5–6)
