In 2012, a group of founders with a strong commitment to education acquired the school and established Aquinas American School with the support of a network of families and friends. Most of those families are represented both on the Board of Directors, and as parents of current AAS students. A major reason driving all founders was the certainty of the need, in this area, of an excellent Catholic international school.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Aquinas American School belongs to Mathema Educaci\u00f3n, an educational group founded by Antonio Arcones that also manages 2 other international schools: Atlas American School of M\u00e1laga and the International School of Navarra.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Aquinas American School is an independent project, initiated by a group of people with long experience in the educational world. It is a Catholic School\u00a0not connected to any ecclesial organization, association or movement. Sus instalaciones hab\u00edan albergado un colegio espa\u00f1ol desde 1986. En 2012, los fundadores, con varios a\u00f1os de experiencia en este campo, y con el apoyo de un grupo de familias y amigos con la misma preocupaci\u00f3n, compraron este antiguo colegio y abrieron Aquinas American School. La mayor\u00eda de estas familias est\u00e1n presentes en el colegio tanto en la junta de gobierno como siendo padres de alumnos. Todos ellos compart\u00edan la convicci\u00f3n sobre la necesidad que exist\u00eda en la zona noroeste de Madrid de un excelente colegio cat\u00f3lico internacional.\r\n\r\nAquinas American School es un colegio cat\u00f3lico independiente, no\u00a0perteneciendo a ninguna entidad, asociaci\u00f3n o movimiento de Iglesia.
