New Careers Opportunities Series:
Lower School has developed hand in hand with Mrs. Carbo, a leadership program in which Lower School students will enjoy sessions and visits from experts in different work fields and new opportunities for the future. They will experience first-hand testimonials from great professionals. On this occasion the theme was gastronomy and illustration and G5 students enjoyed it and had a very active participation. We were surprised to receive 2 more people. Two Spanish chefs, one of them a Michelin star winner. The experts who visited us were the following:
Chef Tita – Inés Paéz Nin Dominican Rep. Chef, businesswoman and communicator. She has been a student of Martín Berasetegui, jury of MasterChef and MasterChef Junior in the Dominican Republic, Ambassador of the Dominican culture, author of cookbooks. Forbes has recognized her as one of the most influential personalities of the DR.
Chef Beatriz Sotelo – Galicia – Chef and educator. 1 Michelin star award. Beatriz Sotelo (Marín, 1981) was the first woman to win the Chef of the Year Contest. She treasures a Michelin star in her restaurant A Estación de Cambre (A Coruña), pampering the quality of the product and interpreting the traditional Galician cuisine. He also currently teaches future chefs at the Galician School of Gastronomy.
Chef Charo Val – Chef and businesswoman – Ibiza – Organic cuisine – Sustainability – He has spoken to the United Nations in forums on Sustainable Food; author of cookbooks.
Taína Almodóvar – Illustrator of children’s stories and winner of national awards in the area of children’s literature and illustration.
On this second occasion, professional soccer player from CD Leganés, representing the Danish National Soccer Team and AAS parent, Martin Braithwaite, talked to our students about the importance of discipline, commitment, responsibility, determination and hard work.
