Academics

At Aquinas American School, we seek to provide an integrated teaching approach. Our educators helps students work towards the acquisition of curricular content, the development of personal skills of inquiry, reflection and communication, and the formation of a personality with a critical spirit, an international mentality and a vocation for leadership and service to the community. Our curriculum supports access to both public and private universities in Spain and abroad.

In AAS we give great importance to the domain of language, since this is the instrument of thought. The work in class and at home, the type of projects and work carried out by the students, facilitates a high level of reading comprehension and a great capacity to expose and articulate ideas, both written and orally. This guarantees the maximum development of intellectual abilities and facilitates the learning of different subjects in both the humanities and the sciences.

Our educational proposal is based on putting the new generations in contact with reality. This is the end goal of the curriculum. And the teacher acts as the medium or magician (hence “magister”) that helps the child or young person to enter reality and get to know it. The opportunities for this are: reading, learning a discipline, sports, theater, singing, dialogue. All this allows the intellectual, moral and aesthetic maturation of the student. We know that the teaching staff is the key, because every educational proposal is a personal proposal. We strive to make present the good, the true and the beautiful, through a group of passionate people who have a true educational vocation; this is the principle to be able to train our young people.
