For the AAS High School Community Service Society

Through the Society Help for the Church in Need or we have learned of their program to help the Christians in Iraq that have to leave their houses to prevent being killed or crucified. This society funds and builds refuge for the homeless and by building churches so they can continue to practice their faith. They also send priests, nuns and other volunteers to help them and have started building schools for the young refugees.

We have proposed a Bake Sale fundraiser at school on the 25th of March to help the society. This sale will include cakes and all type of confectionery donated by all AAS families. This day students and staff will buy the treats during recess, and parents will join in the afternoon.

In order to provide additional moral support, the same day of the bake sale we will make a video to give them hope and to show them that the rest of the Church of the world is with them. This video is going to be sent to the families and especially to the children from Iraq, telling them that we don’t forget them, that they are part of the Church too and that we pray for them, as the Holy Father has asked us to it. We also need more volunteers for the video.

You can help by bringing money to buy or something baked to sell, or you can participate in the video.

For any idea or to offer your collaboration with the bake sale or the video contact: Miriam Barba on responsible for the event.
