Last week, Andie Bejarano, a student from the University of Bristol, came to AAS to talk to our 5th graders about Electric and Electronic Engineering as part of our co-curricular leadership program. This program allows students to both engage in leadership opportunities, such as through our Peer Helper and Operation Smile programs, and through guest speakers such as Andie. Leadership development in Lower School students is an essential part of character building and moral maturity. Those who are given the opportunity to engage in the process of leadership development at an early age increase their capacity to be involved, informed and empowered citizens. Moreover, taking part in these activities improves communication and interpersonal skills, analytical capacity and a sense of community involvement, all of which contribute to shaping young adults that will be ready to succeed in any capacity in the future.
